Tape Open drives
combine the best features of proven technologies with
innovative new features in a standard, open format.
Reliability is the focal point of this new design
incorporating a simplified tape path for less wear and
tear, with a new loading system and precision leader
capture mechanism to eliminate the lost leaders inherent
in older linear DLT drives. Dual redundant servo heads
maintain servo tracking, so all user data will be
recovered even if one of the heads fails, or a full track
is lost. Our LTO Ultrium Linear Tape Open drives redefine data integrity with two
levels of error correction, a cyclical redundancy check
and real time read while write (RWW) to correct
cross-track errors on the fly.
