with Data Deduplication

This powerful iSAN V Series Virtual Tape Library can store 24 TB in just 2U and consolidates backup across any mix of operating systems, including legacy SCSI and SAS host systems.  Utilizing your existing backup software, it virtualizes a high performance RAID so you can write backups to multiple virtual tape drives at once – for performance of up to 1.2 GB/s.  With support for 10GbE. this VTL has everything you need to manage backup and disaster recovery - now and years from now - with unrivaled price performance.

Tape virtualization, hardware data compression and deduplication are operate transparently to your existing backup software, and compression and deduplication take place after the backup process is completed – so there is no drain on production servers.  Typical reduction ratios are 30:1 depending on type of data, making it possible to keep months of backup data on disk for split-second restore while facilitating replication (with encryption) to an offsite location over a thin pipe.  Unlike competing deduplication VTLs, Cybernetics’ deduplication engine does not utilize hash codes, which can compromise backup integrity.   When you’re ready to move data off disk for long term archival storage, the Tape Offload feature will write to removable tape in serverless mode - with absolutely no impact on your host or network operations – for end-to-end data protection.
