Accelerated File Access for Unix, CY-AFA performs high speed search at up to 75 times nominal tape speed. So simple to use, CY-AFA creates tapes in a standard Unix format so they can easily be read with standard Unix commands. Then, when you need to restore a file, CY-AFA will locate the file in seconds so you can immediately restore any individual file in a fraction of the time it would take using standard Unix commands.
