Cybernetics’ revolutionary iSAN D Series supports a combination of
SSD, SATA, and SAS disk drives in just 1U - with the flexibility to create multiple tiered
storage sets. Featuring 8 drive bays, iSAN delivers up to 4 TB of the most
reliable, energy efficient storage on the market – and performance of up to 1.2
GB/s. Because you can mix drive types, you can customize a solution that will
meet your performance, application, and cost-savings requirements and adapt with
your needs over time, including support for 10GbE.
SSD
- Tier One Storage
The rugged reliability, reduced power consumption, and blinding fast access
speed of non-rotating disk storage have proven the cost-justification case for
SSD. Spinning HDDs require about three times as much electrical
power as SSD, so SSD will save energy and reduce operating costs. There is no spin up time or
rotational latency in SSD, and the read performance is about three times that of
HDD, so access speed is dramatically improved.

iSAN storage is self-protecting, thanks to Cybernetics’ exclusive SANDR engine,
which provides levels of protection from virtually every threat to your data.
Snapshot backup; portable disk backup; tape backup; and
encrypted, deduplicated WAN replication delivered at the disk storage level – so no third party software
is required. Just two rack units of space will support a pair of fully redundant
models with automatic failover – and no single point of failure.
